BLOCK STORAGE
Block Storage is a storage service delivered over a high-speed network infrastructure with a minimum connection speed of 10Gbps or higher (equivalent to read/write speeds of up to 1250MB per second).
The Block Storage service is designed to work together with Cloud Server systems to meet large-scale data storage demands.
At vHost, Block Storage is designed and provided similarly to standard SSD drives. Customers can format and use the Block Storage service like a regular disk on their Cloud Server systems for data storage purposes. In addition, customers can create multiple Block Storage volumes and combine them using LVM or RAID configurations to build large-scale data arrays.
The Block Storage service is developed to satisfy high-capacity storage requirements while providing the flexibility to scale instantly without causing service interruptions.
Key Features
Distributed Storage
All data is replicated into three separate copies and stored independently on SSD drives across three different servers. In the event that one server encounters a failure, your data will remain fully protected and unaffected.
Cloud Server
You can flexibly attach and move your Block Storage service between any of your Cloud Server instances.
Flexible
You can expand your Block Storage capacity at any time with just a single click.

Frequently Asked Questions
Currently, the Block Storage service is only available for services hosted in datacenters with the prefixes VN1, VN2, and SG.
Yes. You can register multiple Block Storage volumes for your Cloud Server or Kubernetes services. Please contact support@vHost.vn or email sales@vHost.vn for assistance.
To use the Block Storage service at vHost, you must also use one of the following services at vHost:
- Cloud Server
- Private Cloud
- Managed Kubernetes
No. The Block Storage service is designed to operate internally on vHost’s 80Gbps network infrastructure. Therefore, it can only be used within vHost infrastructure and cannot be connected to external providers.
Currently, vHost designs its network system using dual parallel connections based on the LACP 802.3ad standard, delivering a maximum operating speed of up to 80Gbps.
If you stop using your Cloud Server service at vHost and terminate the service, the system will automatically delete both the Cloud Server and the associated Block Storage service. However, you may request vHost to reassign the Block Storage volume to another Cloud Server service within vHost.
Absolutely. You can reassign your Block Storage service to any Cloud Server within vHost infrastructure.
No. Due to the geographical separation and network architecture of each datacenter, Block Storage services are fixed to their respective datacenters (VN1, VN2, and SG) and cannot be transferred between different datacenters.
No. Due to filesystem and system architecture limitations, Block Storage capacity can only be increased, not reduced.
